Baldwin XC Invite (Community America Bank) October 1st, 2011

The following post is from the Baldwin XC coach. You will find useful information in this letter for the XC meet on Saturday.

Directions on how to get to the course:

You will come into Baldwin on 56 HWY. Take it through town until the west edge. Turn left, (south), on 11th street by a bed and breakfast house. This street will dead end at High Street. Take a right (west) on High Street until you get to the railroad tracks. Turn left (south) right before you get to the tracks. Then just go south 2 blocks and you are at the entrance of the golf course.

Location: Baldwin City Golf Course

Schedule: 8:30 a.m. -7^th Grade Girls 1 mile

8:45 -8^th Grade Girls 1 mile

9:00 -7^th Grade Boys 1 mile

9:15 -8^th Grade Boys 1 mile

9:30 - Boys’ Varsity 5000 meters

10:00 - Girls’ Varsity 4000 meters

10:30 - Boys’ B-Team 5000 meters

11:00 - Girls’ B-Team 4000 meters

Entries: Unlimited in all races

Distances: Boys – 5000 meters Girls – 4000 meters

Awards: Varsity Races – Medals to the top 20 individuals

B Team Races – Medals to the top 15 individuals

Entry Fee: $100 per school. This covers both boys and girls. $50 for boys or girls only. Make the check payable to Baldwin High School

Entries are due to Mike Spielman at mspielman@usd348.com by Sept 23^rd. Send your roster using an Excel spreadsheet with last name in one column, first name in another column, Gender in the third column (M or F) and their grade in a fourth column. You don’t need to declare what race they will run.

Middle School Race

#1 – Distance: 1 mile

#2 – Entry fee: $5 per entry with a maximum of $35 for girls and $35 for boys.

#3 – Awards: Medals to the top 10 individuals for the 7^th grade boys, 7^th grade girls, 8^th grade boys, and 8^th grade girls. Medals will be given in the chute as runners finish.

Jaguar Cross Country Invitational: Meet Information

Drinks and Snacks will be provided by the Scotts

Races will start at 4:00 p.m.

The directions to the GEHS Cross Country course are as follows: Go north on Gardner Road toward the Gardner Golf Course and Gardner Lake. Continue around the lake until you get to the top of the hill and you see a street sign that is marked Gardner Road Turn north and continue one mile until you get to 143rd Street Take a left (west) and go about a quarter of a mile until you see a pole that is painted black and white on the south (left) side of the road, that pole is the finish line for our cross country races. The mailbox has an address of 29855 w 143rd on it.

Ottawa XC Invitational Results...

I've got the place results from the Ottawa XC Invitational. I'll post the official times when I get them from the Ottawa head coach.

The Pioneer Ridge Cross Country team had a strong performance at the Ottawa Invitational on Saturday, September 24^th, 2011. The Jaguars took home 13 medals and ran tough on an Ottawa course that had plenty of hills.

Thirteen Jaguars won medals…

8^th grade boys 2 mile run:

8^th place: Charlie Becker (14:26)

Other Jaguars who competed were Jacob Hardeman (14^th place in 17:21), and Connor Johnston (16^th place in 22:54) in the 8^th grade boys 2 mile race. Will Moore (12^th place in 9:19) and Nolan Quiring (15^th place in 10:36) ran tough in the 7^th boys 1 mile contest. Congratulations PRMS harriers! The Pioneer Ridge Cross Country team looks forward to competing at the Jaguar Cross Country Invitational on Wednesday, September, 28^th at 4:00 p.m.
